Hello friends... Following a recommendation from a colleague, we were in the sleepy town of Schevenhütte on the edge of the world today ... (but top LTE - cell phone reception, has to be mentioned ?) There is an old, rustic hotel-restaurant that I have already passed a hundred times on my bus, always thought ... it was an old pub, with colorful windows and such ... But you thought wrong, it is a rustic, fine restaurant with excellent, home-style cuisine. It's a small family business, where the boss and his wife swing the wooden spoons themselves. My companion decided "again" for a rump steak with pepper sauce, salad and croquettes and I wanted to try the dish of the day ... roast venison with salad, fruit and, if requested, instead of croquettes ... with fried potatoes. What can I say, it was just delicious. Not only that the very friendly service even served the dish at the table, especially the sauce was simply fantastic. Fine in taste, creamy and extremely tasty. The game board was served with a hot pear and on an extra plate there was some apple sauce and cranberry jam ... The rump steak was tender and juicy fried to the point and we would have loved to order another “kump” of the pepper sauce, but without any side dishes. These were definitely not sauces out of the bucket or any pre-made convenience products, but dishes freshly cooked on your own stove, I would say. For dessert there was a small ice cream cake with a homemade caramel sauce, also very tasty. For me this cook is without exaggeration, ... until further notice ... the sauce king .... ? We paid around 50 € for the dishes and one drink each, every cent of that was worth it.

Neat home-style cuisine. Eat like nuts. The Sauerbraten is always good. Sauce really great. Meat could be inserted a little longer, so it decays even more. The apple compote could actually have been homemade. Everything was delicious! The service was also fast and very friendly.

Excellent home-style food. The selection is not big, but you get really delicious food! The homemade soup is a standard. And the portions are generous!
